Wine Walk with old coworkers

Things to do in Tahoe City
We met up with one of Del's old crew from Hotline Construction this weekend in Tahoe City. They were having their annual Wine Walk with 20 different wineries in the area. We were there for about 2 hours when his phone rang and got called into work. On our way home we ran into the crew. Life is never dull around here.

Storm Work

Well, we are 3 weeks into the new job. Del has had a few call outs for storm work because of the wind. These are pictures of a home on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe that a tree blew into. Luckily no one was home.

First week in

So Del has been with the utility company for a week so far. Friday-Saturday he worked 35 hours straight. Worked 9 on Sunday. Worked 8, today. As we were finishing our dinner tonight, he got called in. He is happy about it, not sure how I feel about it yet though. As long as he is happy, that is all that matters.

So this is Utility life?

Good Morning to you

New Location, New Adventure
My Lineman has been working over 27 hours straight. Miss Baloo needs a Potty break early this morning. I get bundled up to take her out and find these outside my door: BEAR TRACKS!

Needless to say I hurried Baloo along, ran back inside, and locked the door.

First Day with Liberty Energy

Back to school! Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool! I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight! Ohhhh, back to school! Back to school! Back to school! Well, here goes nothing!
~Billy Madison

Well, here it goes, the first day of being a utility puke. Needless to say that I have been a bit stressed out over all these big changes. It may surprise you to find out that I DON'T LIKE CHANGE. Moving on a regular basis used to be a big deal, but I have gotten used to it, especially because my house never changes, just my view. This is probably this biggest step we have made since I gave my career up and moved to Kansas, I am WAY more nervous now than then, go figure.

Things I am excited about:
1-Getting a career again
2-Summer Time in Lake Tahoe (Love Kayaking)
3-Not being laid off for 4 months during the winter
4-A REAL HOUSE with washer/dryer and a normal size fridge.
5-Being able to PLAN a vacation

Our New Home

So this is the home we rented. We are moving in 11/23/11. It is a 1 Bedroom, 1 loft, with 2 full bathrooms. 2 stories. Love that it has a fire place, and the huge open windows. I love the deck out back. I am mostly excited about the washer/dryer so no more laundry mat for me for awhile.
